Calling all RSPCA Assured members to attend the 2nd Symposium on Welfare in Aquaculture

We are pleased to support the 2nd Symposium on Welfare in Aquaculture, organised by Swansea University in collaboration with The University of Crete.

Following the success of last year’s event on Welfare Indicators for Novel Species, this year’s event will focus on Operational Welfare Indicators 

for Fish. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2nd Symposium will run as a free webinar on Thursday 26 November from 9:45 to 12:40.

The event hosts talks on operational tools for assessing fish welfare by global specialists. Keynote speaker, Professor Lluis Tort from The University of Autonoma Barcelona, will lead the day with a talk on indicators of welfare status for cultured fish.

We are delighted that Dr Lars Helge Stien, from the Institute of Marine Research in Norway, will be taking an address on operational welfare indicators for salmon from 10:40 to 11:00.
