The RSPCA Assured label very clearly identifies food from animals farmed to RSPCA welfare standards - whether indoors or outdoors, including free-range and organic.

RSPCA Assured is an easy-to-spot label from a recognisable brand, meaning more people will choose these products.

96% of people recognise the RSPCA brand, making it the most recognised charity in the UK.

It is the only farm assurance scheme in the UK dedicated solely to improving farm animal welfare, and the only scheme that uses higher welfare standards written by the RSPCA to help achieve this aim.

120 new product lines have been added since the RSPCA Assured label hit supermarket shelves in 2015.

  • The RSPCA Assured label achieved 33% consumer recognition in its first year, an increase of 120% from 15% when the label launched in May 2015

  • The figure increases to 41% awareness amongst RSPCA Assured’s target market of young professionals and families

  • Greater recognition of the RSPCA Assured label will encourage more people to choose these products, leading to greater demand for animals to be farmed to RSPCA welfare standards.

Iceland, Lidl, Ocado, Tesco and Sainsbury’s, bringing the total number of RSPCA Assured products in retail to more than 2,000.

The amount of food carrying the RSPCA Assured label could increase by as much as 200% by 2020 due to an increase in consumer demand.

It’s also predicted that the RSPCA Assured label will improve the lives of a further 100 million farm animals, plus many millions of farmed salmon and trout during the same period.
